About Elizabeth A.

Elizabeth A. Lahey built the foundation of her legal career in New Hampshire. She earned her J.D. from the University of New Hampshire School of Law after completing a B.A. at Keene State College. Those years left her familiar with the state’s courts and legal community, and they shaped the practical approach she brings to client matters today.

After law school she entered private practice and now serves as a lawyer at Normandin, Cheney & O Neil, PLLC. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire and appears in federal court, including the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the First Circuit. Those admissions allow her to handle matters that cross between state and federal systems.

At Normandin, Cheney & O Neil she works on a range of client matters. The firm’s work frequently involves litigation and counseling, and she participates in case preparation, motion practice and client consultations. Her daily work combines courtroom appearances, drafting filings and advising clients on procedural and substantive issues. Colleagues describe her as thorough in preparation and clear in courtroom explanations.

Outside the firm she is active in the state’s legal and civic networks. She maintains membership in the New Hampshire Bar Association. She also serves on the boards of Reaching Higher New Hampshire and 603 Legal Aid. Those board roles keep her connected to community needs and to efforts that expand access to legal and educational resources.

Lahey is also involved in health equity and race work through the New Hampshire Endowment for Health, where she participates on the Race and Equity Series Advisory Council. That involvement is part of a broader pattern of legal professionals who combine practice with community engagement. Her board work reflects an interest in organizations that address systemic challenges in the state.

Her approach to clients is pragmatic. She aims for clear communication. She prepares thoroughly and favors straightforward legal advice that clients can act on. She balances courtroom work with client counseling and organizational service.

She continues to practice at Normandin, Cheney & O Neil, PLLC, representing clients in matters that may proceed in New Hampshire state courts and in federal forums.
