About Elisa
Elisa Claro began her legal path at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where she earned her J.D. in 2014. She arrived at law school intent on courtroom work. The curriculum and clinics there gave her early exposure to litigation and client counseling, and she left ready to try cases.
Her first position after law school placed her in an established litigation environment. In 2015 she joined Palumbo & Associates as trial counsel. There she handled courtroom preparation, filings and appearances under the supervision of more senior litigators. That year sharpened her familiarity with trial procedure and evidence practice. It also gave her daily experience presenting arguments and working directly with clients preparing for contested hearings.
A year later, in 2016, she opened The Claro Law Office. Founding her own practice allowed her to manage cases from intake through trial. She built a caseload that required practical decision-making about discovery, settlement strategy and trial readiness. Running a small firm also added responsibilities beyond the courtroom: client intake, case management and the administrative tasks that keep a law office functioning.
Her memberships reflect ongoing engagement with the profession. She maintains current membership in both the American Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association. Those affiliations offer access to continuing legal education and professional networks. In practice she draws on that ongoing training to handle procedural and evidentiary issues that arise in contested matters.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic and direct. She prioritizes clear explanations for clients and steady preparation for hearings and trials. She has experience taking cases through trial and handling the pretrial work that such cases require. Today she operates The Claro Law Office in New York, representing clients in matters that require litigation experience and courtroom familiarity. Her current practice concentrates on litigation and trial work in New York.
