About Eli
Eli Roberts built his legal foundation at Brigham Young University, where he completed a B.A. in Political Science in 2010 after beginning his studies in 2007. He went on to Indiana University Bloomington for law school and earned his J.D. in 2013, arriving in Indianapolis after three years of study. Those academic years framed a path that moved from political inquiry to courtroom procedure.
Early in law school, Roberts took work that broadened his view of legal practice. In 2011 he worked as a legal intern with Demarest & Almeida at the Votorantim Group in São Paulo, gaining firsthand exposure to legal operations in an international corporate setting. The next year he clerked at Landay Leblang Stern in Boston, a role that introduced him to the routines of American litigation support and client work.
Roberts launched his own practice in Bloomington in 2013, operating under the name Eli Roberts Lawyer At Law. He spent that year representing local clients and managing the tasks that come with solo practice. Within a year he moved into a firm setting, joining JCS Law-John C. Schleiffarth, P.C. in 2014 as an associate. That transition brought him into a different workflow and into a team environment.
Across those early roles, Roberts developed experience in both domestic practice and matters that crossed national lines. His time in São Paulo involved work alongside corporate counsel; his clerkship in Boston focused on supporting attorneys in litigation and office-based legal research. In private practice he handled client intake, case preparation, and the everyday decisions that shape outcomes for individuals and businesses.
Roberts is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Indiana. He has maintained professional memberships and participates in the routines of bar-related activity. Colleagues describe him as methodical in legal research and attentive in client meetings; those qualities inform the way he approaches casework and counseling.
He currently practices at JCS Law-John C. Schleiffarth, P.C., representing clients in matters across Illinois and Indiana.
