About Elena
Elena Bueno trained at South Texas College of Law, where she earned her J.D. She joined the State Bar of Texas in 2020 and has maintained membership since then. Her legal training began in classrooms and continued through a series of clerkships that introduced her to the daily work of law practice.
Early in her career Bueno worked as a law clerk at Rosas Law Group, PLLC (then Rosas & Suerken, PLLC) in 2017. She returned to the same firm in 2019 for another clerkship. Between those stints she served as a law clerk at Perdue & Kidd and at Friesell Westerlage, PLLC in 2018. Those roles involved research, drafting court documents and supporting attorneys through pretrial and discovery phases. They provided her with repeated exposure to the procedural side of litigation and client file management.
In 2020 she moved into lawyer roles beyond clerking. She worked as a contract lawyer for Mathew Law Office PLLC and later that year took an associate position at Weycer Law Office. Those positions expanded her responsibilities. She began taking on more independent drafting and client contact, while continuing to assist on larger matters handled by supervising attorneys.
Colleagues describe her work as steady and detail-oriented. Her background includes a mix of law office environments, from boutique firms to larger practice settings. That variety has familiarized her with different workflows and case management systems. It has also meant shifting tasks rapidly, from legal research and motion practice to client correspondence and file organization.
Bueno’s path reflects a common arc for young attorneys who move from clerkships into practicing roles. She built a foundation in legal research and writing. She gained practical experience managing discovery and preparing pleadings. Those skills have followed her into her current position.
She currently practices at Weycer Law Office, where she handles client matters, performs legal research and prepares filings on behalf of the firm’s clients. Her current practice focuses on client representation, legal research and case preparation.
