About Elaine

Elaine Ramesh took an uncommon path to the law. She earned a Ph.D. in chemistry at Texas A&M University in College Station and later completed a J.D. at Chicago-Kent College of Law. The combination of intensive scientific training and legal education shapes how she approaches problems today.

Her doctoral work trained her to analyze complex data and to think through experiments step by step. Law school added a second set of tools: statutory analysis, legal writing and courtroom technique. That mix of skills led her into practice areas where scientific and legal questions intersect.

Ramesh is licensed to practice in Illinois. She brought her science background into intellectual property and business matters, areas where technical detail often matters as much as legal precedent. Her peers have noted that attorneys who can read a technical paper and translate its implications into the language of patents and contracts are rare. She fills that role.

Her career has included work drafting and prosecuting patent applications, counseling clients on IP strategy and advising businesses on the legal aspects of technology development. She has represented inventors and companies at different stages, from start-ups to more established firms. Those experiences have required both careful attention to technical detail and an ability to explain complex ideas clearly to nontechnical audiences.

Ramesh also participates in professional associations and maintains active memberships in groups that address intellectual property and business law topics. She has taken part in panels and local meetings where emerging issues at the intersection of law and technology are discussed. Colleagues describe her as someone who values clear analysis and practical solutions.

At Flener IP & Business Law LLC, she continues to combine her science and legal training for clients who need counsel on patents, technology agreements and related business matters. She works on matters that require translating scientific research into legal strategies and practical business advice.

Today she practices intellectual property and business law at Flener IP & Business Law LLC.
