About Eileen
Eileen Warshaw earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Michigan State University in 1983, and returned to MSU for a J.D., conferred in 1987. Her academic background combines social science and law, a pairing that later informed her work in family court and alternative dispute resolution. She attended law school during a period of broad legal change and entered practice as a newly minted attorney in the late 1980s.
Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1987, she has maintained her membership in good standing since that year. Early in her career she joined the Macomb County Bar Association, participating in local bar activities and court-related professional networks. Her long-term involvement in the county bar reflects steady ties to the local bench and bar rather than a brief or intermittent presence.
In 2016 she became a court-approved mediator, listed as a Macomb County Divorce Mediator. That credential followed completion of Michigan State Approved Mediation Training, a certification she continues to list among her professional qualifications. As a mediator she has worked in matters that require balancing legal rules with the interpersonal dynamics of separating couples. The mediator role added a different dimension to her practice; it placed the emphasis on negotiation and structured settlement processes outside the courtroom.
Warshaw retains memberships in the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Section and the Macomb County Bar Association. These affiliations keep her connected to developments in family law practice and to continuing legal education opportunities specific to custody, support, and divorce procedures. Her participation in the Family Law Section signals an ongoing interest in the issues that most commonly reach family courts.
Over three decades of practice in Michigan courts have given her repeated exposure to divorce filings, custody disputes, and related motions. She has represented clients in contested matters and has also served in neutral roles as a mediator. Her approach to cases tends to emphasize applied legal process: pleadings, court hearings, and settlement attempts that follow statutory requirements and local court rules.
She practices law in Michigan and handles family law matters and divorce mediation for individuals and couples seeking either representation or a mediated resolution. Her current practice concentrates on family law and mediation work.
