About Edward
Edward Tayter is an attorney who combined law school and business school at the same time. He earned a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in 2003 and completed an MBA at Washington University in St. Louis that same year. He also holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan. That mix of legal training and business study shapes the pragmatic way he approaches client matters.
After finishing his degrees, Tayter moved into private practice. He spent part of his career at Price Benowitz LLP, where he worked alongside other litigators and counsel in a firm setting. That period allowed him to see how firms manage client files and courtroom work, and to develop the routines that later supported his transition to a smaller practice.
Tayter is licensed to practice in Maryland and Colorado. He maintains memberships in the Maryland Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the American Bar Association. Those memberships keep him connected to local and national developments in law and provide forums for the continuing education that he regularly pursues.
His dual degree background influences his approach to problems. He applies legal analysis while considering the commercial dimensions of a client’s position. He tends to break matters into discrete issues, look for practical paths forward and explain options in plain language rather than legalese. Colleagues and clients have noted that his methodical work style fits matters where legal questions and business decisions intersect.
Tayter now operates The Law Office of Edward Tayter. He runs a smaller office model and handles an array of client matters across two state bars. He draws on experience from firm practice and his business training to manage cases, communicate options and coordinate outside resources when necessary. He currently practices at The Law Office of Edward Tayter, handling matters for clients in Maryland and Colorado.
