About Edward Anthony

Edward Anthony Ruffo built a career that sits at the intersection of trial work and appellate practice. He began his academic path at Columbia University, earning a B.S. in political science in 1989. He went on to receive his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1992. Those years set the groundwork for a practice that spans federal and state courts.

Soon after law school he entered private practice. He joined Dankner, Milstein & Ruffo, P.C. as a partner in 1994. That role placed him in the thick of litigation in New York’s courts and the federal districts that cover the city. In 2010 he established Edward Anthony, LLC and has served as its president, running the firm’s matters and managing its docket.

Ruffo’s admissions reflect a mixed state and federal practice. He holds admission in New York and is admitted to argue before the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. His memberships include the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, where he has been active since the early 1990s, and the New Jersey bar, where he has maintained a membership since 1993.

Professional association work has been a visible part of his career. He has been a member of the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association since the early 1990s. He joined the New York State Trial Lawyers Association’s board of directors in 2012. More recent affiliations include the Columbian Lawyers Association and the Brooklyn Bar Association. He is also listed as a member of the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, which recognizes lawyers in a specified percentile.

Colleagues and peers see him in court and at conferences. His practice has involved both trial-level representation and appellate briefing. He has handled civil litigation across federal and state forums and prepared appeals for the Second Circuit and higher courts. That mix of trial and appellate work shapes how he approaches case strategy and client counsel.

Over the years Ruffo has stayed engaged with organizations that serve litigators. He remains active in the professional groups that reflect his courtroom practice, and he has continued to maintain federal court memberships and bar associations dating back to the 1990s. He currently practices through Edward Anthony, LLC, handling civil litigation and appellate matters.
