About Edgardo
Edgardo Martinez built his academic foundation in political science before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, San Germán Campus in 1998 and followed that with an M.A. in Political Science from Indiana State University in 1999. He later completed a Juris Doctor at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, finishing his legal studies in 2004.
Early in his legal career Martinez worked for Indiana Legal Services as a law clerk in 2002. That role put him inside a public interest environment and exposed him to client work that often involved tight deadlines and limited resources. The work sharpened his practical skills and gave him direct experience with client counseling and case preparation.
A year after finishing law school he launched a solo practice. In 2005 he opened The Law Office of Edgardo Martinez and has operated as a sole proprietor since then. Over two decades in private practice have meant managing both the substantive legal work and the business side of a small firm. He handles client intake, court filings, and the everyday decisions that keep a solo practice running.
Martinez’s path combines public-sector experience and private practice. His academic background in political science informs how he approaches legal issues and client strategy. He has spent time in settings that require plain-spoken explanations of the law, and he has translated that habit into client communications and case planning at his own office. Colleagues and clients have seen him move from case research and drafting in a legal aid setting to running a small office that must respond quickly to changing schedules and court calendars.
Outside of case work, Martinez has maintained professional affiliations since the mid-2000s. Those connections reflect a continuing involvement in the legal community rather than public-facing roles or academic appointments. He has stayed in Indiana through his career and practices under his own firm name.
He continues to operate The Law Office of Edgardo Martinez as a solo practitioner in Indiana, where he handles a variety of matters for individual clients and small organizations. He focuses his current practice on serving clients through his solo firm in Indiana.
