About Eddy
Eddy Chielo earned his law degree from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law in 2004 and returned to the classroom later in his career to complete a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at Nova Southeastern University in 2020. The two degrees bookend more than a decade of legal work that spans military service and private practice. His academic credentials include both professional legal training and advanced research in criminal justice theory and policy.
Soon after law school, Chielo joined the U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps and was serving as an officer by 2008. In that role he acted as a uniformed lawyer advising service members and commanders. The JAG experience exposed him to military justice and administrative law, and it shaped his perspective on legal procedure and client advocacy under pressure. He is a veteran of the JAG Corps and has carried lessons from that service into his civilian legal work.
In 2020 Chielo opened Chielo Law, PLLC, where he practices immigration law. He is admitted to practice in Florida and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He maintains memberships in The State Bar of Florida and the American Immigration Lawyers Association, professional affiliations that connect him to other practitioners and to continuing legal education in immigration and related fields.
Chielo’s doctoral work in criminal justice informs how he approaches cases that sit at the intersection of criminal law and immigration consequences. His academic background gives him a framework for analyzing policy, procedure and statutory interaction. He brings that analytical lens to client matters and to courtroom settings where federal jurisdiction or complex procedural questions arise.
Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical and steady in litigation and in counsel. He staffs a small office through Chielo Law, PLLC, and handles matters in state and federal forums in Florida. He also draws on his military background when advising veterans and active duty clients about legal options. He continues to practice immigration law at Chielo Law, PLLC, representing clients in matters that involve federal court proceedings and state-level immigration-related issues.
