About Dylan

Dylan Greenwood took a measured path into law. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in political science and economics from Virginia Tech in 2005, then completed his J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 2013. The classroom years were busy. They included internships and summer placements that shaped his early practice interests.

As a law student he spent two summers at the Federal Public Defender’s office for the Middle District of North Carolina, in 2011 and 2012. He also served as a law clerk to Superior Court Judge L. Todd Burke in 2011, gaining front-line experience in state court procedures. Earlier, in 2006, he worked as an intern for the United States Senate, an experience that exposed him to federal policy and legislative processes.

After law school Greenwood gained admission to practice in North Carolina and secured seats on several federal dockets. He is admitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. He also serves as a Certified Continuing Education Instructor for the North Carolina Board of Licensed General Contractors, a role that involves teaching compliance and professional standards to licensed contractors.

Greenwood’s professional associations reflect a blend of interests. He has been a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice since 2017 and belongs to the American Immigration Lawyers Association from the same year. Earlier, he served on the Newsletter Committee of the Criminal Justice Section of the North Carolina Bar Association between 2014 and 2016.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and steady in client meetings. His early work at the federal public defender’s office exposed him to federal criminal practice, while his continuing education work connects him with regulated trades and licensing issues. The combination gives him a cross-cutting perspective on enforcement, licensing and immigration concerns that arise in both criminal and regulatory settings.

He practices from Greenwood Law. The office handles litigation and representation across several forums, including state and federal courts. Greenwood’s day-to-day work includes courtroom appearances, client counseling and instruction for contractor compliance. He concentrates his practice on criminal defense and immigration-related matters.
