About Dustin
Dustin Hunter builds his practice on courtroom experience and an education rooted in criminal law. He earned his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2007 after studying law with an emphasis in criminal defense.
Early in his career he concentrated on criminal matters. That period helped him develop practical courtroom skills and an understanding of trial strategy. Over time he handled a range of cases that involved both misdemeanor and felony allegations, working through pretrial negotiations, motions practice and jury trials.
Hunter maintains memberships in professional legal associations and stays engaged with the bar and his peers. He has kept current on developments in criminal law and procedure, attending continuing legal education and events that reflect changes in state practice and precedent.
At Robertson & Hunter he serves as one of the lawyers at the firm. His work covers investigation and defense of criminal charges, and he regularly appears in Florida courts. He prepares defenses, files motions, and advocates for clients at hearings and trials. He also advises clients on the collateral consequences of criminal convictions and on post-conviction options.
Colleagues describe him as practical in approach and steady under pressure. He combines case preparation with attention to detail in discovery and evidence issues. That preparation often frames the choices he makes in plea discussions and trial planning.
Outside of courtroom work he has been involved in matters that require careful coordination with investigators, experts and family members. Those aspects of practice often demand clear communication and timely decision-making. He meets those demands while navigating the procedural demands of Florida courts.
He currently practices at Robertson & Hunter, handling criminal defense and related matters.
