About Dusti
Dusti Harvey earned her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1996, after beginning her legal studies in 1993. She joined the New Mexico State Bar the same year she graduated and has maintained active membership since 1996. During law school she took on leadership responsibilities, serving as president of the Women’s Law Caucus from 1994 through 1996.
Harvey’s career has been anchored in New Mexico. She is a long-standing member of the New Mexico State Bar and has been involved in several local and national professional organizations. Since 2004 she has held membership in the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, where she has served on the board. That same year she joined the New Mexico Women’s Bar Association and the National Citizen’s Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. Beginning in 2005 she assumed the presidency of the Nursing Home Section of the American Association for Justice, a role she continues to hold.
Her professional trajectory shows sustained engagement in advocacy related to nursing home care and trial practice. The combination of a board role in the state trial lawyers association and leadership in a national nursing home section signals regular participation in trial-level litigation and policy discussions about elder care. Early leadership in the Women’s Law Caucus reflects long-term involvement in organized bar activities and mentoring within the profession.
She practices at Harvey & Foote Law Office, where her practice draws on decades of membership in statewide and national trial organizations. Colleagues and peers have noted her steady participation in association work and committee leadership over many years. That experience informs the cases she brings to court and the issues she pursues in reform efforts. Her present practice concentrates on nursing home cases and trial work.
