About Drew

Drew Barnett earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2009 and completed his J.D. at the University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa in 2012. His academic background combines an analytical undergraduate degree and three years of formal legal training. The mix of economics and law shapes how he approaches case assessment and client counseling.

He is licensed to practice in Alabama and is a member of the Alabama State Bar. Barnett joined Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C., where he has worked on litigation matters and represented clients in court proceedings. He has been part of trial teams and has handled pretrial preparation, depositions, and courtroom hearings.

Barnett’s economics training often informs his work on damages and financial elements of cases. He breaks complex financial information into clearer terms for juries and clients. That approach has been part of his litigation strategy from early in his career.

Outside the office he maintains memberships in several legal organizations. He belongs to the Alabama Association for Justice and the Birmingham Bar Association. He is also a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, an organization that recognizes trial lawyers who have obtained multi-million-dollar results.

Colleagues describe Barnett as methodical in case preparation. He focuses on careful discovery and evidence development. He tends to take a hands-on role in trial readiness and in crafting explanations of technical issues for non-specialist audiences.

At the same time, he handles the negotiation side of cases. He prepares settlement projections and advises clients on the litigation risks they face. He balances court work and case management to move matters efficiently while preserving trial options.

Barnett remains active in local legal circles and contributes to firm efforts on litigation strategy. He lives and practices in Alabama and continues to represent clients through Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C. His current practice concentrates on civil litigation and trial representation for clients in Alabama.
