About Douglas
Douglas Shanteau earned his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. He studied the core subjects that shape courtroom work and client counseling. Law school placed him in a professional environment where classroom doctrine met the practical demands of practice.
After receiving his J.D., Shanteau moved into the practice of law. He has kept an active connection to professional circles and maintains membership in bar and legal associations. Those memberships have given him regular contact with peers and the profession’s changing rules and procedures.
Shanteau’s approach to cases is pragmatic and detail-oriented. He emphasizes careful fact-gathering and clear written work. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing documents and attentive in client meetings. He spends time explaining options and likely outcomes so clients understand the choices before them.
In daily practice he prepares filings, meets with clients, and handles hearings and negotiations as matters require. He balances courtroom work with out-of-court problem solving. That mix of tasks shapes how he manages a file from intake through resolution.
Shanteau remains connected to legal education and the practical skills that entry-level lawyers need. He follows developments in procedure and case law that affect the kinds of matters he handles. His continuing involvement in professional groups keeps him current on procedural changes and industry practice.
Outside of casework, he invests time in the essentials of running a practice: supervising support staff, organizing files, and maintaining communication with clients. Those routines are where much of the day-to-day pressure in a law practice plays out. He views strong organization as central to serving clients effectively.
He currently maintains an active practice and focuses on representing clients and managing their legal matters.
