His legal journey began with a solid educational foundation, earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Montana School of Law in 2004. Prior to that, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology at the University of California, San Diego, in 1999. Following his graduation from law school, Douglas clerked for the 10th Judicial District Court in Lewistown, Montana, from 2004 to 2005. This experience provided him with invaluable insights into the judicial process and developed his legal skills.
In 2005, he transitioned to the Montana Office of Public Defender, where he served as a Regional Deputy until 2017. In this role, he managed attorneys and clients across 11 counties in central Montana, overseeing a diverse range of cases. In 2017, Douglas joined The Advocates, where he continues to represent clients in personal injury cases with passion and expertise. He is a Fellow of the National Review of Public Defense and an active member of both the Montana State Bar and the Montana Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, he is affiliated with the American Bar Association, reflecting his commitment to staying informed about developments in the legal field. Outside of his legal practice, Douglas is deeply involved in his church and community. He enjoys spending quality time with his four children and has a focus on reading young adult fiction.
An avid runner, he participates in marathons alongside his wife.
