Douglas Allen Wright is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005 and holds bar number 239112. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Wright is the managing attorney at Legacy Legal Group PC, a law firm located at 2124 Eureka Way, Redding, California. He has been practicing law for over 20 years, serving clients throughout Northern California.
Mr. Wright earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated in 2005. During his time at McGeorge, he was awarded the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Professional Responsibility (Ethics). Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2002. Additionally, he participated in the International Legal Studies program in Salzburg, Austria, studying under retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
Mr. Wright concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and probate law. He represents individuals and families in matters involving succession planning, living trusts, wills, probate administration, and estate and trust litigation. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, drafting of legal documents, negotiations, and representation in probate court hearings and trials.
Throughout his career, Mr. Wright has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Shasta, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate attorney at a mid-size law firm in Redding for several years.
Mr. Wright is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He has been recognized by his peers and was selected to Super Lawyers for 2020 through 2026. He was also named the Best Attorney in 2017 by the Record Searchlight and received the Rising Star designation from Super Lawyers Magazine in 2013, 2014, and 2015. In the community, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Redding Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta County, and the Rotary Club of Redding. He is also a past Vice President of the Shasta-Trinity Counties Bar Association. Mr. Wright is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Northern California effectively.
