About Doris
Doris Youmara earned her Juris Doctor from Arizona Summit Law School in 2014 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Whittier College in 2011. She also holds an ABA Paralegal Certification from California State University, Los Angeles, a credential that preceded her admission to law school and informed her early legal work. Those years set a practical foundation for courtroom work and case preparation.
Her legal career began while she was still a student. In 2011 she worked as a law clerk at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, handling research and supporting prosecutorial teams. After law school she moved into insurance defense and claims work. In 2016 she served as a litigation adjuster and paralegal at Global Hawk Insurance Company (RRG), where she managed documentation and assisted in preparing files for litigation.
By 2020 Youmara returned to public service as a Deputy District Lawyer in the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office. That role exposed her to courtroom procedure and trial preparation on the prosecution side. In 2021 she joined Curtis Legal Group as a lawyer. Over the years she has built experience in case strategy, hearings and motions, and interacting with judges, clients and opposing counsel.
She is admitted to the State Bar of California and is authorized to appear before several federal courts, including the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Her memberships include the Assyrian American Bar Association, the Consumer Lawyers of California Women’s Caucus, the Stanislaus County Wray Ladine American Inn of Court, the Stanislaus County Bar Association, and the Stanislaus County District Lawyers Association. She also participates in Stanislaus County mock trial competitions as a lawyer judge, contributing to local legal education and mentoring law students.
Colleagues describe her as steady in the courtroom and detail-oriented in case preparation. She combines early experience in paralegal and claims work with courtroom practice developed at the district attorney’s office and in private practice. That blend informs how she approaches litigation and client advocacy. She currently practices at Curtis Legal Group, where her work centers on litigation in state and federal courts.
