About Donald
Donald McClellan built his foundation in the classroom before he took to courtrooms. He earned a B.S. from Utah Valley State College in 2010, followed by an M.A. from the University of Denver in 2014. He completed his legal training at Washburn University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2017.
After law school he served as a law clerk in the 8th Judicial District. That role placed him inside the courthouse early in his legal career. He moved into private practice the next year and served as an associate at McAdams Law Office in 2018. He then spent 2019 at Gelman & Norberg and joined Modern Family Law in 2020. In 2021 he became an associate at Basler Family Law. Those positions gave him steady courtroom exposure and regular client work across a range of family law matters.
His resume traces a clear thread through family law. At firms that identify with family practice he handled case preparation, filings and client consultations, and gained experience in hearings and negotiations. Early work as a clerk also offered a view of how judges approach evidence and procedure. The combination of bench-side experience and front-line practice informed how he approaches case strategy and client communication.
In 2024 he opened The McClellan Law Office, LLC. The move to his own practice marked a shift from associate roles to running an office and managing client relations directly. He practices in Colorado and has continued to represent individuals in domestic matters. Running a small firm required him to take on administrative duties he had not handled before, while continuing the legal work he had already been doing for several years.
Colleagues and clients describe him as someone who brings attention to detail to filings and preparation. He maintains active ties to professional circles and remains admitted to practice in Colorado. He currently operates The McClellan Law Office, LLC, where he handles family law and related matters.
