About Donald

Donald Macarthy began his legal path at Oklahoma City University School of Law. He arrived there after undergraduate studies and found the law school’s emphasis on practical training suited his interest in client work. The classroom was where he learned doctrine; the clinics and externships shaped the kinds of cases he would take on later.

Early in his career he joined Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma. At Legal Aid he represented individuals who otherwise had limited access to counsel. His work there involved client interviews, case preparation and courtroom appearances. The position exposed him to a steady stream of civil matters and to the procedural realities that can determine outcomes for everyday people.

Macarthy is admitted to practice in Oklahoma. Over time he moved from public-interest work into private practice. The transition kept much of the same day-to-day work: advising clients, preparing pleadings and arguing in state courts. It also required learning how to manage a practice, from intake systems to billing and case prioritization.

He later founded Macarthy Law LLC. In that setting he continued representing individuals, combining courtroom work with negotiated solutions where appropriate. His experience at Legal Aid informed how he approaches client problems. He tends to treat cases as human problems that require both legal analysis and practical choices. Colleagues say he is steady in litigation and exacting in preparation, and clients have relied on him for clear explanations when matters were moving quickly.

Outside the office, his background in public-interest law keeps reappearing in his approach to new matters. He reviews cases with an eye toward access and remedies that make a tangible difference for clients. He has kept his practice centered on civil matters arising in Oklahoma, drawing on the procedural knowledge and client-facing skills he developed earlier in his career. He now practices at Macarthy Law LLC, handling civil cases for individuals in Oklahoma.
