About Donald M.

Donald M. Hahn built his legal foundation at Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a B.S. in political science in 1987. He went on to Villanova University School of Law and completed his J.D. in 1992. Those academic years framed an interest in litigation and insolvency that would guide his career.

He began his practice as an associate at Novak Stover in 1992. He handled bankruptcy matters early on and stayed with the firm as it evolved. In 2003 he became a shareholder at Stover McGlaughlin. He has remained there since, taking on cases and responsibilities that range from courtroom work to firm management.

Hahn is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also holds certification in consumer bankruptcy law from the American Board of Certification. That credential marks a recognized specialization and informs the work he takes on for individual debtors and related matters.

Across his career he has been active in the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association. He served on the association’s board from 2003 to 2009, returned to the board in 2011, and has continued in that role. He was vice president from 2014 to 2015 and became president in 2015; he remains in that leadership position. The roles have put him in contact with judges, trustees, and fellow practitioners in the district and given him a steady presence in local bankruptcy practice circles.

His day-to-day work covers a mix of debtor counseling, chapter filings, and contested matters that arise in consumer bankruptcies. He handles adversary proceedings and motions practice when disputes move into the courtroom. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation and pragmatic in settlement discussions.

At Stover McGlaughlin, Hahn carries responsibilities as a shareholder while maintaining a caseload. He manages client intake, advises on restructuring options for individuals, and appears in federal bankruptcy court across the Middle District. He has built a practice around the practical problems people face when seeking relief under the bankruptcy code.

He continues to participate in bar association activities and board governance while practicing at Stover McGlaughlin, handling consumer bankruptcy and related matters.
