About Dona

Dona Szak earned her J.D. from Washington & Lee University in 1984. She moved into legal practice after graduation and has built a long career in private practice and firm environments. Her law school degree set the stage for more than four decades of work in the profession.

Her career spans a period of steady practice rather than headline-making office-holding. Over the years she has handled client matters in a variety of settings. That work has included advising clients, negotiating transactions, and representing parties in contested proceedings when matters proceeded to formal dispute resolution.

Szak has maintained active ties to the professional community. She holds current membership in professional associations and participates in the networks those groups provide. That engagement has kept her informed about changes in procedure, case law, and professional standards as her practice evolved.

For the current portion of her career she is at Ajamie LLP. There she works alongside other lawyers in a firm setting, managing client files, counseling businesses and individuals, and taking actions aimed at protecting client interests. Her role at the firm reflects decades of experience in handling the practical and procedural demands of clients and courts.

Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and client-oriented. She tends to break problems into discrete steps and to set clear priorities for each matter. That style has guided how she reviews facts, evaluates legal options, and prepares materials for negotiations or hearings.

Outside the office she has continued the routine professional activities that many long-practicing attorneys maintain: keeping current on developments in the law, serving on committees or panels when asked, and mentoring more junior lawyers. She has been present in the legal community long enough to see several cycles of change in law practice and in regulatory environments.

She practices at Ajamie LLP, where she handles client representation and counseling for a range of private and corporate matters.
