About Dimitrios
Dimitrios Makridis built a legal path that moves between public service and private practice. He studied operations management before turning to law. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management and Supervision from Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. He is licensed to practice in Ohio and has been active in the Columbus legal community.
Early in his career Makridis worked inside government and industry. He served as an intake officer for the City of Columbus, a role that exposed him to municipal processes and the first contact many citizens have with city government. Around the same time he held the position of general counsel at Hyperion Motors, where he handled corporate legal matters and transactional work. Those positions gave him experience on both sides of the public–private divide.
In 2014 he began practicing through Makridis Law Office, LLC. The firm work has included litigation and client counseling across a range of civil matters. His practice reflects that early mix of municipal and corporate exposure; he handles issues that require both courtroom experience and an understanding of business operations. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and precise in client interactions, preferring clear analysis over rhetorical flourishes.
Makridis has also engaged with professional organizations in Columbus. He has been a member of Lawyers For Justice at the Columbus Bar Association since 2012. That involvement connects him with volunteer and pro bono programs in the region. In recognition of his work, he was named to Super Lawyers Rising Stars in 2020, an award that highlights lawyers under a certain age or time in practice who have drawn peer recognition.
His approach to cases is methodical. He breaks problems into discrete steps, prioritizes early fact-gathering, and focuses on practical resolutions when they are possible. In contested matters he prepares for trial, but he also pursues negotiated outcomes when those better serve a client’s interests. This dual posture — readiness for litigation and attention to negotiated settlement — recurs in his file handling.
Makridis remains based in Columbus, practicing through Makridis Law Office, LLC. He continues to take cases in Ohio, participates in local bar programs, and splits his time between client work, case preparation, and community legal efforts. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and transactional matters in the Ohio courts.
