About Dillon G.

Dillon G. Coil earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire in 2006, concentrating in business law, intellectual property and tax law. His coursework combined transactional and regulatory subjects with an emphasis on how law affects commercial decision-making. The program exposed him to both corporate structuring and the technicalities of IP protection, as well as tax issues that touch routine business operations.

After law school he built his practice in Nevada. He is licensed to practice in that state and began working in private practice in the late 2000s. In 2009 he joined Ellsworth, Moody & Bennion, Chtd. as an associate. That move placed him in a firm that handles a range of commercial and regulatory matters for business clients.

At the firm he has taken on matters that reflect his academic training. His work has included corporate transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property filings, and tax-related counseling for small and mid-sized enterprises. He has handled the practical side of IP protection—filings and portfolio management—as well as disputes that arise from licensing or alleged infringement. On the tax side, his matters have concerned entity selection, tax implications of transactions and compliance issues that affect business owners.

Colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic. He tends to break complex rules and statutes down into concrete steps a client can follow. That approach suits the types of clients he serves: entrepreneurs, closely held companies and professionals who need clear legal guidance for routine and occasional complex matters. He balances attention to technical detail with an eye for the business consequences of legal choices.

Much of his practice involves drafting agreements and advising on commercial arrangements. He also works on transactional closings and supports clients through compliance reviews. In intellectual property work he has been involved in trademark filings and counseling on protection strategies. On tax questions he focuses on structuring transactions to account for tax outcomes and on practical compliance measures.

Dillon G. Coil remains at Ellsworth, Moody & Bennion, Chtd., where he applies his training in business law, intellectual property and tax law to serve private clients and business entities. His current practice centers on business law, intellectual property and tax matters.
