About Diego
Diego Aviles earned a B.A. in Political Science and Criminology, Law & Society from the University of California, Irvine, graduating in 2011. He went on to complete his legal education at Santa Clara University School of Law. His academic path combined classroom study and hands-on legal work, preparing him for a range of public interest and employment matters.
Early in his career Aviles took a steady course through legal clinics and public service roles. He worked as an administrative legal assistant at Shah Sheth LLP in 2008 and later served as a law clerk at Bay Area Legal Aid in 2012. During law school he held several clerkships and externships, including a certified law clerk position at the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center and a summer placement at Neighborhood Legal Services in 2013. Those posts exposed him to client intake, brief drafting and courtroom preparation.
In 2014 he moved into roles that emphasized litigation and administrative practice. He was a litigation clerk for the City of San Jose and a summer associate law clerk at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. That same year he completed an employment law externship at Phillip J. Griego & Associates. His 2015 work as a student advocate in the Ninth Circuit Appellate Immigration pro bono program added appellate experience to his résumé.
After law school Aviles continued in positions that mixed public agency work and private practice. He was a law clerk at Collinson Law, APC in 2016 and served in the Office of the General Counsel at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in 2017. Later that year he joined Bibiyan Law Group, P.C. as an associate. His trajectory shows a mix of government-side and plaintiff-side exposure, and frequent involvement in litigation matters.
Aviles maintains memberships in professional organizations including the California Employment Lawyers Association and the State Bar of California. Those affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with employment law issues and developments in California practice. Colleagues and supervisors have relied on him for case research, motion drafting and discovery strategy.
He is an associate at Bibiyan Law Group, P.C., and maintains his California practice. His current practice centers on employment law matters in California, including litigation and administrative proceedings.
