Dianne Moorehead Hughes was a respected family law attorney based in Bel Air, Maryland. Born on June 22, 1955, in Westernport, Maryland, she graduated from Bruce High School before pursuing higher education at Western Maryland College. In 1993, she earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law, graduating cum laude. This academic achievement laid the foundation for a successful legal career that spanned nearly three decades. Admitted to the Maryland State Bar in 1994, Ms. Hughes maintained an active license until her untimely passing in 2022. Her legal practice was primarily focused on family law, where she handled cases involving adoption, child custody, child support, and guardianship.

Additionally, she addressed bankruptcy and estate planning matters, showcasing her diverse expertise. Ms. Hughes operated her own law office at 5 S. Additionally, she is remembered by her brother, David Moorehead; her sister, Linda Cleveland; and several nephews and nieces. Her family played a significant role in her life, and she often expressed pride in her legal career while cherishing her time with loved ones.

On June 26, 2022, Ms. Hughes passed away at the age of 67 — A memorial service was held at Boal Funeral Home, P.A. in Abingdon, Maryland. Her obituary highlighted her dedication to her legal profession and her deep love for her family and pets. Known for her fondness for vacations at Harrington Manor and the beach, Ms. Hughes left a lasting impact on her community. Her contributions to family law and her unwavering commitment to her clients will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
