About Di
Di Ma has built a career that bridges hospitality, gaming regulation and public-sector law. Her path moves from business and hotel administration studies into legal practice. She has occupied roles in state regulation and municipal counsel offices and now runs a small private practice in Albany.
Her academic record reflects that transition. She holds a J.D. from Albany Law School (2014), an M.S. in hotel administration and casino operations from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas (2009) and a B.S. in business administration from the University of Maryland, College Park (2003). The combination of business and hospitality training preceded her decision to enter law school.
After finishing law school, she took a post at the New York State Gaming Commission in 2014 as 1st Casino Gaming Manager and Associate Counsel. In that role she worked on regulatory matters tied to casino licensing and operations, advising on legal issues that affect gaming facilities and their compliance with state rules.
In 2017 she moved into a municipal role as General Counsel for the Albany Housing Authority. There she handled legal and administrative questions for a public housing agency. Her work involved supporting an agency that manages housing programs, contracts and the legal framework that governs public housing operations.
She has been active in alumni governance as a member of the Albany Law School National Alumni Association board since 2017. That service has kept her connected to legal education and to the local bar community in upstate New York.
Her professional credentials also include a Model Store Status certification from the Swatch Group. That connection reflects the earlier part of her career that combined hospitality and retail operations, and it intersects with regulatory and commercial issues encountered in both the private and public sectors.
Today she practices under the name Di Ma s Law Office PLLC. She draws on experience in regulatory work, administrative law and transactional matters developed in state and municipal positions. Her current practice concentrates on regulatory, administrative and transactional matters.
