About Derek
Derek Phipps studied at Ohio State University in Columbus before earning his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. His education combined a large public university experience with legal training in one of Ohio’s established law schools. The two institutions shaped a practical approach to law that he has carried into practice.
After law school Phipps established his career in Ohio. He is a member of the State Bar of Ohio and holds memberships in several local bar groups: the Southwest Ohio Trial Lawyers Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Clermont County Bar Association. Those affiliations keep him connected to peers across the region and to developments in Ohio practice.
Phipps’s path has been anchored in the local legal community. He has maintained ties to the Cincinnati area through professional associations and through his office work. His participation in county and city bar organizations suggests regular contact with trial lawyers and civil practitioners throughout southwestern Ohio.
At The Moore Law Office Phipps works in a small-firm environment. That setting allows him to handle matters directly for clients and coordinate with other lawyers when cases require additional resources. Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic. He focuses on clear communication and routine client contact rather than elaborate presentations.
Outside of courtrooms and client meetings Phipps remains engaged with the bar organizations that reflect his practice geography. He attends events and continuing legal education offerings hosted by the Cincinnati and Clermont County bar associations. He also maintains active membership in the Southwest Ohio Trial Lawyers Association, which connects him with trial practice developments in the region.
Those regional connections inform how he manages matters at the Moore firm. He balances local practice knowledge with the procedural demands common to Ohio courts. Clients who seek local counsel find a lawyer familiar with Ohio’s legal landscape and the professional networks that support litigation or transactional work.
He currently practices at The Moore Law Office, representing clients in matters handled through his Ohio licensure.
