About Dennis R.
Dennis R. DeBroeck followed a path from the business school classroom to the courtroom corridors. He grew up around numbers and strategy. That background shaped his decision to study law after earning a business degree.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2009, concentrating on accounting and finance. He then attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where he completed his Juris Doctor. The combination of a business undergraduate education and a J.D. has informed the way he approaches legal problems.
Early in his legal career, DeBroeck worked at Fenwick & West LLP. His time there exposed him to practice in a large firm environment and to the processes that come with complex client matters. He took on responsibilities that required careful analysis of documents and coordination with colleagues across practice groups.
DeBroeck is admitted to practice in California. He brings an analytical approach to legal work, often turning to his accounting and finance training when reviewing contracts, company records, or transactional details. That training gives him a different lens for evaluating documents and structuring legal arguments that touch on business issues.
Colleagues describe him as deliberate in his preparation. He favors clear organization and precise drafting. Those habits show in how he manages projects, prepares for negotiations, and supports clients through detailed review. He also places weight on understanding the economic context of legal questions, rather than treating them purely as technical legal puzzles.
Outside the office, he maintains an interest in developments at the intersection of business and law. He follows shifts in regulatory guidance and the ways financial reporting practices affect legal outcomes. That awareness helps him anticipate issues before they become disputes.
Today he practices law in California and continues to apply his combined training in business and law to the matters he handles. His current practice focuses on legal work that involves business, accounting, and financial analysis.
