About Dennis P. Uhlmann

Dennis P. Uhlmann Jr. earned his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice at Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2004. His academic path paired a liberal arts foundation with professional legal training. The undergraduate study in criminal justice shaped an early interest in how law interacts with public safety and procedure, and law school provided the tools to work on those issues in practice.

After law school, Uhlmann was admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. He has built a practice that crosses the state line, handling matters that require familiarity with the rules and procedures of each jurisdiction. That dual admission has informed the way he approaches cases. He pays attention to local court practices, filing requirements and the tactical differences that can matter from one county to the next.

Uhlmann’s background in criminal justice informs his work. The degree gave him an early grounding in criminology, procedure and the intersections between policy and enforcement. Over time, that perspective has been one strand among several in his legal work. He focuses on practical problem solving. He prepares pleadings, negotiates where resolution is available, and appears in court when litigation is required. He values careful preparation and attention to the factual record.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in case preparation and straightforward in court. Clients encounter clear explanations rather than legalese. He explains options, potential outcomes and next steps in plain terms. That direct approach guides his interactions in both state and federal matters when those arise. He also stays current on rule changes and local practice updates that can affect case management and scheduling.

Uhlmann combines regional experience with courtroom familiarity. He practices in New Jersey and New York and manages matters that require coordination across jurisdictional lines. He currently practices law in New Jersey and New York, handling matters in state and federal courts.
