Dennis Joseph Doucette is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1986 and holds bar number 126001. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Doucette is a partner at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, a full-service law firm located in San Diego, California. He has been practicing law for over 39 years, serving clients throughout the San Diego metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
Mr. Doucette earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1986. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Southern California, receiving both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts degree in 1983. During his time at the University of San Diego, he was actively involved in various legal organizations and participated in the school's clinical legal education program.
Mr. Doucette concentrates his practice in the areas of securities law, business law, and health care law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, strategic joint ventures, financial services, and emerging growth and venture capital. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Doucette has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in San Diego for five years.
Mr. Doucette is an active member of the Association of Corporate Growth and has served on its Board of Directors and Finance Committee since 2016. He is also a member of the Corporate Directors Forum, where he has served on the Programs Committee. Additionally, he is a member of Meritas Law Offices Worldwide and has served on its Board of Directors. He is also involved with the San Diego Economic Development Corporation and the University of Southern California Economics Leadership Council, both of which he serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Doucette is fluent in both English and American Sign Language, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
