Dennis James Bischof is the founder and owner of Dennis J — Bischof, LLC, a personal injury law firm located in Williamsville, New York. He has been practicing law in New York since 1990. The firm, situated at 6720 Main Street, Suite 250, serves clients across Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Genesee, Wyoming, Orleans, Monroe. Onondaga counties. Mr. Bischof earned his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law in 1989, where he served as associate editor of the Syracuse Law Review. Prior to law school, he graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, in 1986.

Before establishing his firm, Mr. Bischof began his legal career in Washington, D.C., with the U.S. Navy, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. During his tenure, he tried numerous cases in various state and federal courts throughout New York and gained significant appellate experience arguing cases before the Appellate Division, Fourth Department. The New York Court of Appeals. His practice primarily focuses on personal injury and wrongful death claims arising from car accidents, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, truck accidents, and motorcycle accidents. He also handles cases involving slip-and-fall accidents, workplace and construction accidents, and other preventable tragedies.

Mr. Bischof has been recognized for his professionalism and outstanding contributions to his profession. He has been repeatedly selected to New York’s ranks of Super Lawyers from 2009 to 2011 and from 2015 to 2025. He has also received a Special Service Award from the Bar Association of Erie County. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Bischof is actively involved in the community. He serves as chairman for the Bar Association of Erie County’s Solo and Small Practice Committee and is a member of the New York State Bar Association’s Law Practice Management Committee.

He has also been appointed to serve on the New York State Supreme Court (Civil) Advisory Committee on e-filing. Mr. Bischof is admitted to practice in New York, Massachusetts. The District of Columbia, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Western Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
