About Dennis Geis
Dennis Geis Temko earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2012 after completing a B.A. in psychology at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2006. He moved from the study of human behavior into the practice of law, carrying an early interest in how legal systems affect families and young people. The academic path set a steady course for a career rooted in San Diego’s courts and legal community.
Temko’s early work life was varied. In 2006 he held roles at Bunim/Murray Productions, then worked as an agent for Coldwell Banker in 2008. Those experiences preceded his legal internships, where he gained courtroom exposure. In 2011 he served as a certified legal intern at the San Diego County Office of the Public Defender. The following year he was a certified legal intern with San Diego County Counsel in the juvenile dependency unit. Those placements provided hands-on experience in public defense and dependency proceedings during his law school years.
After law school, Temko joined the Law Office of Stephen Temko as an associate in 2012. He spent several years in that role before opening his own practice. Since 2017 he has operated the Law Office of Dennis Temko. He is licensed by the State Bar of California and also holds a real estate license issued by the California Department of Real Estate.
Professional memberships connect Temko to both appellate and family law communities. He has been an associate member of the San Diego Appellate Inn of Court since 2017. He also holds membership in the San Diego Family Bar Association, a connection that reflects ongoing involvement in matters that touch on family courts and related legal issues.
Temko’s background bridges criminal defense, juvenile dependency work, and private practice. His internships gave him early exposure to courtroom procedures and client advocacy in high-stakes settings. In private practice he has handled matters that draw on that foundation, bringing both courtroom experience and transactional awareness to client problems. His real estate license adds another dimension to the kinds of issues he can address for individuals and families.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who arrived at practice through a blend of public service and private-sector work. He built up courtroom familiarity through internships and then transitioned into a solo practice that reflects those earlier threads. He continues to practice in California and maintains a law office in San Diego that handles appellate, family, and related civil matters while also holding a California real estate license.
