About Dennis

Dennis Chin is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2005. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Chin is a litigation counsel at SAC Attorneys LLP, a law firm located in San Jose, California. He has been practicing law for over 21 years, serving clients throughout the Silicon Valley area.

Mr. Chin earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated in 2003. He also obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2010. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biophysics. During his time at McGeorge School of Law, he served as a judicial extern for California Supreme Court Justice Ming W. Chin and as a law clerk for Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

Mr. Chin concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, business torts, real estate, and employment law. He represents clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, law and motion, depositions, arbitration, mediation, negotiation, settlement, and trial proceedings. His experience encompasses both business and family law, allowing him to provide comprehensive legal services to a diverse clientele. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Throughout his career, Mr. Chin has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to joining SAC Attorneys LLP, he worked as a litigation associate at Berliner Cohen, LLP, and Burnham Brown. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at California State University East Bay’s Paralegal Studies Program, teaching courses such as Personal Injury and Tort Litigation, Legal Ethics, and Introduction to Law.

Mr. Chin is an active member of the California State Bar Association and has been recognized for his contributions to the legal community. He is a two-time recipient of the State Bar’s Wiley W. Manuel Award and received the Alameda County Bar Association’s VLSC Volunteer of the Year in 2006 for his work at various legal clinics. In 2009, he was honored with the Barristers Distinguished Service Award by the Alameda County Bar Association. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Alameda County Bar Association and the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley.
