About Denise G.

Denise G. Bayer earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2002. She also completed the Law and the Arts program at CWRU’s Center for Law, Technology, and the Arts. That combination of traditional legal training and specialized study shaped the early contours of her practice.

She is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in state courts and to participate in federal appellate matters when cases reach that level. Her legal credentials reflect both trial-court and appellate pathways.

Bayer is based at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd., where she joined colleagues handling a range of matters. At the firm she has handled cases that require careful legal research, drafting persuasive briefs, and preparing for oral argument. Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure and thorough in preparation; clients have relied on her for clear analysis in often technical disputes.

Her certificate in Law and the Arts signals an interest in issues that cross into cultural and technological spheres. That program emphasized the intersection of intellectual property, contract matters, and public policy as they affect artists, creators, and arts organizations. Bayer’s training there informs how she approaches disputes that involve creative work, licensing questions, or the policies that regulate expression and innovation.

Bayer’s work combines litigation skills and specialized knowledge. She has experience preparing appellate filings and navigating procedural rules in multiple forums. She prioritizes careful fact development and concise legal writing. Those skills feed into arguments intended to clarify complex rules for judges and opposing counsel alike.

Outside the courtroom, her legal education at Case Western Reserve provided a foundation in doctrinal law, legal research, and advocacy. The Law and the Arts program added a practical dimension tied to real-world issues for clients in creative fields. That mix helps her frame legal problems so they are easier for clients to understand and for courts to address.

She currently practices at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell, Ltd., where her work concentrates on appellate advocacy and legal matters involving the arts and related technologies.
