About Debrina Lynn
Debrina Lynn Washington took an indirect route to law. She studied business and French at Skidmore College, earning a B.A. in 2000. Three years later she enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and completed her J.D. in 2005.
Early in her career Washington spent time in public service. In 2006 she joined The NYC Legal Aid Society’s Life Estate Planning Project and worked on that project through 2007. That experience put her in contact with clients who needed clear, practical solutions for preserving assets and planning for long-term care.
Her academic background blends business and language study. That combination has influenced how she approaches client matters. She also holds a PHR credential through SHRM, an HR-related certification that complements her legal training and offers additional perspective on workplace and organizational issues.
Colleagues describe her as methodical and exacting in document work. She has experience preparing estate planning documents and advising on practical steps that help people protect property and arrange for future needs. The work has required close attention to statutory details and an ability to explain options plainly to clients who do not deal with legal matters every day.
Washington is licensed to practice in New York. She continues to handle estate planning matters and related client counseling in that jurisdiction. Her current practice concentrates on estate planning and related transactional work.
