About Deborah Frances Ward
Deborah Frances Ward Hubbs trained as a lawyer at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, earning her J.D. in 2006. She moved into practice quickly and built a career that crosses corporate counsel work, executive advising and nonprofit legal services. Her legal education laid the groundwork for roles that would blend transactional work with leadership and organizational development.
Hubbs spent the 2010s in in-house counsel roles at energy companies. She joined GeoSouthern Energy Corporation as general counsel in 2012. That position involved managing legal risk for an active exploration and production company. In 2017 she served as general counsel for Greenfields Petroleum Corporation, continuing to handle corporate governance, contracts and regulatory matters tied to oil and gas operations.
Alongside those in-house roles, Hubbs moved into executive advisory work. In 2015 she founded Catalyst Executive Advisors and served as its CEO. The firm provided counsel on business strategy and governance for executives and boards. She later founded Community Christian Legal Aid in 2018, establishing a nonprofit arm of her work that provided legal help to clients who lacked resources. In 2020 she became CEO of Hubbs Law Group, a move that consolidated her private-practice, advisory and nonprofit activities under a single leadership role.
That mix of experience informs how she practices now. Licensed in Texas, Hubbs combines transactional and governance experience from the energy sector with hands-on nonprofit legal work. Today she maintains a private practice under the name Deborah Hubbs, Lawyer & Counselor at Law, PLLC, while continuing leadership roles in advisory and nonprofit enterprises. She has also maintained involvement in professional associations since 2007. Her current practice handles corporate and energy-sector matters as well as legal services tailored to nonprofit and individual clients.
