About Dean Richard
Dean Richard Hedeker built a professional life at the intersection of accounting and law. He earned a B.S. from DePaul University, became a Certified Public Accountant through the University of Illinois—Chicago, and later returned to DePaul College of Law to take up a J.D. The mix of degrees shaped the direction of his career from the start.
He began his professional career in public accounting. In 1981 he worked as a tax manager at Arthur Andersen & Co., a role that placed him in the midst of complex tax work and client advisory assignments. That early experience in a large accounting firm gave him practical exposure to federal and state tax issues and the demands of corporate clients.
In 1986 Hedeker moved into private practice. He founded Dean R. Hedeker, Ltd., setting up a practice that bridged his accounting training and legal credential. Over the following years he served clients on matters that required both tax expertise and legal analysis. His background allowed him to address questions that crossed the usual lines between tax compliance, planning, and the legal rules that govern financial choices.
In 2002 he founded Hedeker Wealth Management Group, LLC and continues to serve as owner and principal. The firm reflects a steady shift toward combined financial and tax services. Hedeker has overseen the firm’s work helping individuals and businesses make informed decisions about tax treatment, asset management, and financial planning. His leadership role there follows decades of hands-on professional work.
Hedeker is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and Illinois. He maintains an active presence in both jurisdictions and blends his CPA and J.D. credentials in everyday practice. As of 2026 he practices in Pennsylvania and Illinois and directs Hedeker Wealth Management Group, LLC, handling tax and financial matters for individual and business clients.
