About Daze Swift
Daze Swift Lee earned an MBA from Providence College in 2008 and a J.D. from the University of Massachusetts School of Law in 2015. Those credentials set the stage for a career that crosses the boundaries between law, business and accounting. Lee’s academic path combined financial training with legal education, shaping an approach that relies on both technical training and practical problem-solving.
After law school, Lee built experience that drew on both halves of that education. Lee is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and took roles that required interpreting financial data alongside legal obligations. Memberships in the Institute of Management Accountants, the American Institute of CPAs and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs reflect ongoing ties to the accounting profession. Lee also belongs to the Massachusetts Bar Association, maintaining professional links to peers in the state’s legal community.
Lee’s professional title is Of Counsel at Cohen Law Group. In that role Lee provides advice on matters where legal analysis and financial insight intersect. Colleagues describe an ability to translate complex financial documents into digestible legal issues. Lee’s background allows for that translation. The combination of an MBA and a J.D. provides both the vocabulary and the framework to address disputes, contract matters and regulatory questions that involve numerical detail.
The work often involves clients facing contested business disputes, contract interpretation and compliance questions that require review of accounting records and financial statements. Lee’s memberships in national and state accounting organizations inform that work. Those affiliations keep Lee current on accounting developments, standards and professional practices that can be consequential in litigation or transactional settings.
Lee’s practice style is methodical. Projects begin with a review of the factual record and the financial documents, followed by an analysis of the legal standards that apply. That approach aims to identify discrete issues that can be resolved through negotiation, document drafting or, when necessary, litigation. As Of Counsel, Lee also assists more junior lawyers in handling technically complex assignments that may involve expert reports or forensic accounting.
Outside of the office, Lee’s professional activity centers on continuing education through accounting and bar association programs. That engagement supports a cross-disciplinary practice and informs client counseling. Currently Lee practices at Cohen Law Group in Massachusetts, providing legal counsel that integrates legal analysis and financial expertise.
