About Dax

Dax Garvin built his foundation in law at two Texas schools. He earned a Bachelor of Science in 1999 after studying criminal justice at the University of Texas at Tyler and Austin College, where he took part in mock trial and moot court competitions. He went on to Texas Tech University School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 2002. While there he served on the Board of Barristers Trial Advocacy Team, a role that introduced him to structured courtroom preparation and competitive advocacy.

After law school, Garvin established his practice in Texas. He has handled matters in state courts and has concentrated his work around courtroom presentation and litigation. Early exposure to trial settings—first in academic competitions, then in professional cases—helped shape how he prepares and presents matters. He is known among peers for a methodical approach to case preparation and for the steadiness he brings to hearings and trials.

The steady through-line in Garvin’s career is courtroom advocacy. The training he received on trial teams carried over into client work. He focuses on the mechanics of trial: evidence, witness examination, and persuasive argument. Colleagues note that his background in mock trial and moot court informs how he frames openings and closes, how he structures direct and cross-examinations, and how he plans for evidentiary disputes. That experience also influences how he mentors younger lawyers and how he conducts trial teams when circumstances call for coordinated courtroom effort.

Garvin’s professional life remains rooted in Texas courts. He maintains a primary office in the state and appears regularly before judges and juries. His practice emphasizes litigation and trial practice rather than transactional work. He balances courtroom time with case strategy and client counseling, moving cases toward resolution when possible and taking matters to trial when necessary. He currently practices in Texas, centering his work on courtroom litigation and trial advocacy.
