About Dawn A.
Dawn A. Garcia earned her law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, receiving a J.D. in 2006. She entered the profession after completing a rigorous legal education in Nashville. The record shows a steady progression from solo practice to partnership over the course of her career.
She launched her own practice in 2008, operating as Dawn A Garcia, Lawyer-at-Law. That early experience gave her direct responsibility for client intake, case management and the business side of a legal practice. In 2020 she became a partner at Niner | Garcia PLLC, a move that formalized a longer-term collaboration and expanded the firm’s capacity to serve clients in multiple jurisdictions.
Garcia is licensed to practice in Wisconsin and Tennessee. Maintaining active credentials in two states has shaped the rhythm of her work. It requires attention to differing court procedures and an ability to coordinate matters across state lines. Over time she has balanced courtroom appearances, client counseling and the administrative duties that come with running a law office.
Colleagues describe her practice as client-centered and practical. That reputation grew out of years spent handling a range of matters in state courts and administrative forums. Her experience includes navigating filings, hearings and settlement negotiations, and it reflects the realities of sustaining a private practice in two different legal landscapes.
As a partner at Niner | Garcia PLLC since 2020, Garcia shares responsibility for the firm’s strategic decisions and daily operations. The partnership broadened the firm’s bench and allowed for more complex casework and client intake. It also shifted some of her role from sole practitioner to collaborative management, requiring new systems for delegation and quality control.
Outside the office, Garcia’s background at Vanderbilt remains a touchstone. The school’s emphasis on practical skills and legal analysis informed her approach to client problems and trial preparation. She continues to draw on that training when mentoring younger lawyers at the firm and when preparing for hearings.
Today she works from the firm known as Niner Garcia PLLC. Her practice handles matters arising in both Wisconsin and Tennessee, balancing litigation tasks and client advisory work. Her current practice concentrates on representing clients in matters across those two states.
