About David

David Zappitell built his path to law from two different classrooms. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in finance from Michigan State University in 1985 and went on to receive a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 1990. Those years framed a transition from numbers to narratives, and they inform how he approaches legal work.

After law school he established his practice in Florida. He is licensed to practice in that state and has spent his career working within Florida’s courts and regulatory framework. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation. Clients have come to expect clear explanations and steady representation.

Zappitell’s undergraduate training in finance sits beside his legal education. That combination shapes the questions he asks and the documents he reviews. He is comfortable tracing a paper trail and untangling financial detail. At the same time he draws on his law school training when precedent and procedure matter most.

He has worked across different settings. That has included time in private practice and representation of both individual and business clients. He has handled transactional matters, negotiated agreements, and addressed disputes that required courtroom appearances. The work has touched on regulatory issues common in Florida, and on contract and business matters that cross municipal and state lines.

Outside the office he has remained connected to the legal community. He attends continuing education programs and contributes to professional discussions where local practitioners exchange practical approaches to common problems. That involvement keeps him current on changes to Florida law and to court procedures.

Colleagues say Zappitell favors clear, plainspoken explanations when meeting clients. He prepares written summaries and road maps so clients understand the choices before them. He values practical solutions that resolve issues without unnecessary delay, but he is prepared to litigate when the situation calls for it.

Now practicing in Florida, he combines his finance background and legal training in service of clients who need both transactional insight and courtroom readiness. He currently focuses his practice on client matters in Florida state and federal courts.
