About David Zachary
David Zachary Hudson combines a military academy undergraduate education with graduate policy training and an Ivy League law degree. He earned a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University, and a J.D. from Yale Law School in 2009. That academic mix set the stage for a career that moved quickly from federal clerkships into corporate legal leadership.
Hudson began his legal career in the federal courts. He served as a law clerk to Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in 2009. The next year he clerked for Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. at the Supreme Court of the United States. Those two consecutive clerkships placed him at the center of appellate and constitutional practice early on.
After his clerkships he joined private practice. In 2011 he worked as counsel at Bancroft PLLC, a firm known for appellate and complex civil litigation. That role gave him courtroom experience and exposure to high-stakes legal strategy outside the judiciary.
Hudson moved into corporate law leadership in the mid-2010s. In 2016 he became Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Afiniti, a technology firm. The title combined day-to-day transactional responsibilities with governance duties. Three years later he joined Las Vegas Sands Corp.; in 2019 he was named executive vice president and global general counsel.
As global general counsel at Las Vegas Sands, Hudson oversees a broad array of legal functions for an international company. His responsibilities include corporate governance, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, and oversight of litigation and government investigations. He handles cross-border issues and coordinates internal legal teams with outside counsel on large transactions and regulatory matters.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and pragmatic in approach. He draws on his judicial clerkship background when assessing risk and crafting litigation strategy. His policy training and naval academy roots inform a management style that values structure and clear chains of command.
Hudson is admitted to practice in Nevada and the District of Columbia. He has worked at the intersection of corporate operations and regulatory oversight for more than a decade. He maintains his office at Las Vegas Sands and continues to manage the company’s global legal affairs and compliance efforts.
