About David
David Wolkowitz began his professional path in classrooms rather than courtrooms. He earned a Master of Science from Northwestern University before moving on to Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, where he completed his Juris Doctor. He later returned to Northwestern for additional training in divorce mediation. That blend of technical graduate study and legal education informs how he approaches cases.
Wolkowitz launched The Wolkowitz Law Office in 2011. He has worked across family and personal injury matters since then. In 2023 he joined Injury Lawyers in Illinois, LLC as a member, expanding his practice connections in the state. He also holds memberships in several bar organizations, which he uses as forums for staying current on legal developments.
His bar affiliations include the Illinois State Bar Association and local groups in Champaign and Sangamon counties. He is also a member of the National Lawyers Guild. These memberships reflect a practice that spans geographic and substantive lines inside Illinois. He is licensed to practice in Illinois.
Wolkowitz’s work covers divorce and related family law issues and extends into personal injury. He completed a divorce mediation certification at Northwestern, which shapes how he manages dispute resolution and client discussions. He handles litigation when cases require court intervention and prepares mediation and settlement strategies when that path is appropriate.
Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in negotiation and methodical in case preparation. He balances courtroom readiness with an interest in resolving matters through mediated agreements when clients wish to avoid protracted litigation. His dual exposure to technical graduate study and legal practice often shows up in files that involve detailed fact patterns or complex timelines.
Wolkowitz maintains an office in Chicago and draws clients from across the state. His practice mixes family law—particularly divorce and mediation—and personal injury matters, and he continues to serve clients from his Chicago office.
