About David Wesley
David Wesley Engstrom built his legal foundations at two Ivy League schools. He earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1992 and a J.D. from Cornell University in 1995. Those years set the stage for a practice grounded in Pennsylvania law and a steady involvement in civic organizations tied to Swedish-American interests.
After law school Engstrom began practicing in Pennsylvania. His career has been marked less by headlines and more by steady participation in professional and cultural institutions. He holds current memberships in the American Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. Those memberships have kept him connected to developments in legal practice and the local bench and bar.
Outside the bar associations, Engstrom has taken on leadership roles that reflect a particular interest in Swedish-American relations. He serves as President of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia and as Secretary and a member of the Board of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in the USA. He is also a member of the Board of Governors for the Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia. Those positions require administrative work, event planning, and regular engagement with business and cultural leaders on both sides of the Atlantic.
Colleagues describe Engstrom as methodical. He approaches legal matters in a straightforward way. He balances association work and board responsibilities with the day-to-day demands of representing clients in Pennsylvania. Over the years he has focused on building practical solutions rather than pursuing public recognition. That approach has guided his involvement in chambers of commerce and in museum governance, where practical management often matters more than ceremony.
Engstrom’s education and sustained participation in professional groups inform his perspective on law and community service. He remains active in Philadelphia’s legal circles and in organizations that promote ties between the United States and Sweden. He maintains a law practice in Pennsylvania and currently focuses his practice on serving clients in that jurisdiction.
