About David
David Vyborny built his legal foundation in two very different institutions. He earned his Bachelor of Arts at Seton Hall University, then returned to Virginia for law school and received his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law. Those years set the stage for a career that has combined courtroom work and firm management.
He entered private practice in the early 2010s. In 2010 he joined RILEY & WELLS - Lawyers-At-Law, where he worked as a lawyer on matters assigned by the firm. The experience there exposed him to the routines of litigation and client representation and gave him the chance to handle filings and court appearances in a firm setting.
In 2016 he took on a new role as Principal & Managing Lawyer at Occam Immigration. The title reflects both an ownership position and day-to-day leadership. He oversees the firm’s operations and contributes to case strategy. Colleagues and clients have noted that the administrative responsibilities do not distract from his work on individual matters; he continues to accept and manage client cases while supervising other lawyers and staff.
He is admitted to practice in Virginia and also holds admission in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Those credentials allow him to appear in state matters and in federal proceedings within that district. Professionally, he participates in organizations that relate to his areas of practice. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and serves as an editor of the VTLA Journal for the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
His work at Occam Immigration centers on advising and representing clients in immigration-related matters. He handles filings, court appearances, and the administrative work that accompanies immigration cases. He also manages the firm’s internal practices, balancing client work with mentorship and oversight of junior attorneys and staff.
Outside the office he maintains ties to the professional community through his association memberships and his editorial role. That involvement keeps him connected to developments in litigation practice and to other lawyers handling related matters. He continues to practice law in Virginia and appears in the Eastern District of Virginia when cases require federal court involvement.
He currently focuses his practice on immigration matters at Occam Immigration.
