About David
David Silverstein built a career that began in the classroom and quickly moved into the courtroom. He graduated from Princeton University in 1988 with a B.A. in English. He then earned both a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Emory University School of Law in 1993, completing a combined course of study that blended legal training and business coursework in the same year.
He gained admission to practice in New Jersey in 1993. Within a year he was a partner at Lependorf & Silverstein, P.C., a role he has held since 1994. Those early transitions — from student to attorney to firm partner — set the tone for a practice rooted in the New Jersey bar and the state's courts.
Over more than three decades at the bar, Silverstein has maintained a steady presence in New Jersey legal circles. He is a long-standing member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and has belonged to the New Jersey Association for Justice since 2010. Colleagues and clients see him as a lawyer who knows how the state system works, having handled matters across multiple court levels during his time in practice.
Outside of courtrooms and case files, Silverstein serves on the board of the Princeton University Center for Jewish Life. That role connects him back to his undergraduate alma mater and to broader community work tied to campus life. The position also reflects an ongoing link between his professional life and civic engagement.
His dual degrees — law and business — shape how he approaches client matters. The legal training supplies doctrine and procedure. The business education adds another layer: an awareness of commercial considerations and risk assessment. He applies both strands when preparing cases, advising on practical outcomes as well as legal arguments.
Today he remains at Lependorf & Silverstein, P.C. He continues to practice in New Jersey and represents clients in matters before the state’s courts.
