About David

David Shapiro is a Phoenix-area lawyer who built his legal foundation through two Arizona schools and an early entry into practice. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science and entrepreneurship from the University of Arizona in 2007 and completed his Juris Doctor at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2010. Those years framed his early interest in courtroom work and trial procedure.

Soon after law school he joined Luis P. Guerra, LLC as an associate. He began practicing in 2010 and spent his first years handling matters in Arizona courts. The experience gave him regular exposure to litigation and the everyday tasks of running a case — drafting pleadings, taking depositions and appearing in hearings. Colleagues from that period remember a methodical approach to case preparation and an interest in understanding how each piece of evidence fit into a larger narrative.

Outside the office he has remained active in professional circles. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice and the Arizona Association for Justice since 2011, and he joined the American Bar Association and the Maricopa County Bar Association the same year. In 2013 he added membership in the Lawyers Information Exchange Group. His memberships reflect a steady connection to continuing legal education and professional networking.

Shapiro is admitted to practice in Arizona and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle matters at both the state and federal levels. He has balanced courtroom appearances with motions practice and client counseling, often moving a file from initial complaint through later stages of litigation.

Peers describe Shapiro as pragmatic in the way he approaches casework. He tends to prioritize clear organization and deadlines. That style shows in how he prepares affidavits and organizes discovery, and in how he communicates case status to clients and opposing counsel.

Over the years he has maintained ties to local bar activities and legal education events. He continues to update his practice by attending seminars offered through the organizations he belongs to. As of 2026 he practices in Arizona and is admitted to the Ninth Circuit.
