About David P

David P Suich built his professional identity around tax law and business matters. He began his academic path at the University of New Hampshire, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1981. He earned a J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1994 and returned there to complete an LL.M. in Taxation in 1997. Those credentials anchor a career that moves between transactional work and regulatory questions.

Early in his career Suich translated classroom study into practice. After law school he entered private practice and took on tax planning, corporate advice and the sorts of cross-border and interstate tax questions that come up for companies and high-net-worth individuals. He has maintained admissions in multiple states, and he is admitted to practice in Ohio, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Suich’s work has balanced advisory engagements and dispute matters. He has advised clients on federal and state tax implications of business reorganizations, handled compliance and reporting issues, and supported estate and succession planning. He has also assisted clients responding to audits and examinations. The LL.M. in Taxation gave him additional technical training in areas such as partnership taxation, corporate tax, and the Internal Revenue Code, which informs the practical counsel he gives to clients.

Colleagues describe Suich as methodical and precise in handling documentation and planning. He tends to break complex tax rules into concrete steps clients can follow. That approach shows in his transactional files and in representations where timing and documentation materially affect tax outcomes. He has practiced in firms that serve closely held businesses as well as clients with multi-state concerns, so his practice carries both local and regional elements.

Outside of casework he has remained engaged with developments in tax law through continuing legal education and professional contacts. He brings academic grounding and practical experience to matters that require interpretation of the tax code, negotiation with revenue authorities, or careful design of business and estate arrangements. He currently focuses his practice on tax law and related matters.
