David Mikel Howard is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Howard is a member of D. M. Howard Law, a law firm located in Willows, California. He has been practicing law for over twenty-nine years, serving clients throughout the Northern California region.
Mr. Howard earned his Juris Doctor degree from the California Northern School of Law in 1996, where he was a member of the Law Review. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Chico, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Law, a Minor in History, and a Paralegal Certificate in 1990.
Mr. Howard concentrates his practice in the areas of family law, estate planning, business law, debtor and creditor collections, and criminal law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving divorce, child custody, estate planning, business formation, debt recovery, and criminal defense. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Howard has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Glenn, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Sacramento for five years.
Mr. Howard is an active member of the Butte County Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Litigation. He is also a certified mediator through the California Dispute Resolution Council. Mr. Howard is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Northern California effectively.
